Adventure Sports (without English Tuition)
Askham Bryan College, York – 14-17 year olds, boys and girls
This course is designed for students who are looking for adventure and challenges in the great outdoors. By exploring beautiful parts of the Yorkshire countryside, you will be physically challenged in a positive and safe learning environment.
Boys and girls from both Harrow School or Rugby School will be able to add a week after an English language course, and have the opportunity to participate in the following exciting activities:
- Abseiling
- Canoeing
- Climbing (indoor and outdoor)
- Kayaking
- Orienteering
- Overnight Camping
- Hill Walking
- Team-building tasks
- Caving
You can canoe from the college up the River Ouse through the City of York and back again!
Your qualified instructors will lead your team of adventure seekers to ensure that you have an exciting, fun filled, action packed time with a unique chance to develop leadership skills, initiative, self-confidence and responsibility.
Students must have a spoken level of English that is Intermediate or higher – B2 on the Common European Framework, or a pass at Cambridge First Certificate to attend this course.
Accommodation
Students will be fully residential at the beautiful Askham Bryan College close to the beautiful and historic city of York. The college farm and estates covers over 413 hectares on two sites. All students will be in single room accommodation with an en-suite bathroom. There is a common room for time to relax together and evening activities will be a mix of a film evening, bowling, ghost walk in York, indoor climbing wall or various on site activities or sports. All meals (breakfast, lunch and supper) will be in the central dining hall.
