English and Rugby at Rugby School
13 - 17 year old boys
A unique, two week programme for those who want to develop their physical fitness and rugby skills whilst at the same time as improving their English with like minded people.
What better place than Rugby School, the birthplace of Rugby Football, to learn more about the game and enjoy an unforgettable rugby experience. Rugby is a top private School with fantastic facilities set in beautiful surroundings. It was here on the School Close that, in 1823 a local boy, William Webb Ellis, first ran with the ball and invented the game of rugby football.
Today many tourists visit the ‘home of rugby football’ and rugby teams from all over the world have trained in this magnificent setting. The programme has been formulated by our experienced RFU qualified coaches. Each student is assessed on arrival and after 21 hours of rugby coaching, leave with a thorough understanding of the sport. The course will include: individual and team skills; different aspects; handling, receiving and passing; kicking and tackling; contact and set pieces.
Includes
- 40 hours of English including 5 hours of breaks and 21 hours of Rugby
- Two full day and two half day excursions plus evening outings including a trip to a Premiership Rugby Stadium
- A chance to play on The Close – where the game began
