English as a Foreign Language
About the BABSSCo teachers
- Students are taught by qualified EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teachers. Many of them have been teaching for us for several years and are experienced in teaching young learners. Our teachers are friendly, fun and enthusiastic and all are cleared through a police check.
A stimulating way to learn English
The focus of BABSSCo English lessons is on improving speaking and listening skills and providing students with the language they need to get the most out of the activities and excursions on the course.
Students are taught through a variety of methods:
- 15-20+ hours teaching time (excluding breaks) depending on the centre
- The maximum class size is 16 and average class size is 12
Classroom lessons
Students will improve their ability to communicate in English through a range of interesting and exciting activities. Teachers use textbooks or other teaching resources and a range of language material from our extensive BABSSCo resources, as well as the internet, television, DVD and music.
Pronunciation Practice
The BABSSCo teachers use games and songs to help students work towards pronouncing English like a native speaker.
Language activities
Have fun while improving spoken English through drama, role-play, games and trips out and about to practise speaking in, for example, a Post Office or station.
Producing a class project
Children work in a team or on their own to create a souvenir of their time on the course, such as a course diary, class blog, magazine or perhaps a film.
BABSSCo provides:
- Assessment on arrival
- Progress monitoring
- End of course test
- End of course report and certificate
- Free course book or alternative learning resource such as a reading book or idioms dictionary
It may be possible for us to arrange IELTS and Trinity testing - please contact us for further details on info@babssco.co.uk
At the end of the course there is a prizegiving ceremony. Most centres give a group photograph so you can remember your friends and the course staff on your BABSSCo course. Your academic report and course certificate are posted to you after the course.
