English as a Foreign Language
About the BABSSCo teachers
Students are taught by qualified EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teachers. Many of them have been teaching for us for several years and are experienced in teaching young learners. Our teachers are friendly and enthusiastic and all are cleared through a police check.
A stimulating way to learn English
- 15 hours (including lesson breaks) of English tuition per week are given on the Harrow School Courses for younger students (aged 10 - 12) and on all courses at Heathfield School.
- 20 hours (including lesson breaks) of English tuition per week are given on all our other English Language courses.
- The maximum class size is 16, average class size is 10-12.
Students are taught through a variety of methods:
Classroom lessons
Students will improve language skills through a range of interesting and exciting activities. Teachers use textbooks and a range of language material chosen according to students’ level from our extensive BABSSCo resources, as well as the internet, television, video and radio resources.
Out and about
The BABSSCo teachers take the children out and about to practise their English, for example, in a Post Office, a station or bank.
Language activities
Have fun while improving spoken English through songs, games, role-plays and drama sessions.
Producing a course diary, class project or film
Children work in a team or on their own to create a souvenir of their time on the course, e.g. a course diary, class project, magazine or perhaps a film
BABSSCo provides:
- Assessment on arrival
- Progress monitoring
- End of course test
